Individual therapy offers the possibility of long lasting change. This is best achieved through a process of self-reflection and discovery that takes place within the context of a safe and honest relationship between therapist and client. In my experience, people get the most of out therapy when there is a good connection with their therapist. What a good connection is varies from person to person, but it is for this reason that I often encourage people to meet with a few different therapists before making a decision on whom to work with. The most reliable way to discern whether a therapist is right for you is to meet face to face for an initial consultation. If a good fit is determined, a regular meeting time(s) is established.
